Hello, friends! It's been a while since I posted just to say hi and ramble. Now seems like a good time, so here goes!

So, lots going on in Veronicaland, and when last we left real life, I'd been laid off. Made redundant. Shown the door.

( Ha! They were just kidding. )

Just wanted to give everyone fair warning that ooooh, shiny, the fabulous archive hosting all my fan fiction, is going dark tomorrow for the SOPA strike. Blackout times are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST. Needless to say I won't be posting anything, but then I expect to be buried beneath a foot of snow - so I'll spend my time writing, instead :).

Having just spent the last four days in Disneyland with gershwhen, I'm having a real hard time adjusting to the fact that it's back to work tomorrow - and into a whole new set of responsibilities that will either secure my employment or seal my doom. I'm trying to convince myself that sleeping on the couch tonight will be just a like a sleepover! Only with a grumpy cat who's been locked up in the office all day. My bedroom/bath/closet are all being painted (a lovely, Wedgwood-y blue) and right now the curtains and sheers are draped across the bed. After watching the White Collar marathon (I like Elizabeth, but I can't say the show is better when she's there), the River Monsters marathon (the unhooked eps are the best - "As we were filming this scene, tiny fish were nibbling at my feet") and now the Destination: Truth marathon (they never find anything but Josh Gates is just too cute for ( Read more... )

So I've mentioned my struggles with my job ad nauseum, but I do recognize that with those struggles comes not only a paycheck, but intangible things that make tough days a little easier to bear. With that in mind, here is a pic taken outside my office window a few weeks back:

Came home from a meeting in Seattle (yes, my job has been eliminated as of February 1st but by God we MUST and WILL have meetings!) to find that two lovely people think that I am a special snowflake!
